 New Paintings for 2008
The studio has new paintings all over, I am focusing on larger scale art this year. Small will be about three feet square. In planning 2008 and working on my own art calendar I have 8 shows this year, that is a lot of painting and opportunity to present my art work and talk about painting, abstract art, expressionist influences and my choice of color. I never really considered my work abstract or expressionism, but when I started working large it became obvious to me. The figure is still the most important element in my art work but with the larger scale the abstract and the expressionist elements gain importance, far more than in my smaller work.
