In their first showing together, Eddie Hamilton and Dan Young bring together their whimsical and thoughtful paintings in Ars Insurgo. Experience the humor and exploration of these two artists as they convey ideas from debate and human journey in Hamilton’s playful characters to Young’s multimedia constructions using toys from his youth.

Eddie Hamilton - Eddie’s work confronts relationships, inspired by the clashes and debates of world leaders to the clashes, debates and interpersonal relationships in everyday life. The work shown in Ars Insurgo represents some of the individuals that stand up against the norm and challenge those around them, or take some time-off to enjoy the journey of life.

Dan Young - Dan’s work is about integrating the nostalgia and desire to be young and carefree again with the harsh realities of being a responsible adult in today’s society. Using recycled toys and objects from his actual youth, Young combines them with his interest in Science Fiction, nostalgia from a youth lost, and a rabid fascination with Art History. In Ars Insurgo, Dan explores what it means to be an adult: responsible, thoughtful and nostalgic, yet retaining the good parts of youth: excitement, fun, and humor.
